Yet one of the most undervalued assets for any system that includes humans – attention – cannot be scaled by raw compute. The recent Intuition Fest, where thousands of children practised focus, breathwork and presence, is a timely reminder that certain capabilities must be cultivated, not coded.

For architects, CTOs and product leaders the immediate takeaway is strategic: human capabilities are part of the system substrate. When we design AI-augmented workflows, we rarely treat human attention as a finite resource that should be modelled, preserved and optimised.
- Human-AI teaming needs a new set of primitives.
- Instrument for cognitive cost, not just latency and throughput. Add telemetry that measures context switches, escalation frequency, and trust calibration between human operators and models.
