In celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation have generously donated a 20-kg gold crown to Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja, as reported by Lokmat. The stunning crown made its debut along with the first look of this year’s Lalbaugcha Raja on September 5. Lord Ganesha is depicted sitting grandly on his throne, wearing this splendid golden crown which took over two months to create.
Anant Ambani’s deep connection with Lalbaugcha Raja is well-documented, reflecting a relationship that spans more than 15 years. Beyond public appearances during the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, he has been intimately involved in numerous initiatives of the Lalbaugcha Raja Committee. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Anant contributed significantly by donating 24 dialysis machines to the committee.
His long-standing dedication has earned him honorary membership with the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal, and he also serves as an executive advisor to the committee. This denotes a strong relationship between Lalbaugcha Raja and Reliance Foundation.
The Lalbaugcha Raja Public Ganeshotsav Mandal’s celebrations this year run from Saturday, September 7, 2024, to Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Established in 1934, the renowned Ganesh idol of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal resides at Putlabai Chawl and has been tended to by the Kambli family for over 80 years. This year’s idol unveiling occurred on September 5, heralding the start of the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.
