CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke at Jantar Mantar Calls for Peaceful Protest
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the online movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), arrived in New Delhi on Saturday, June 6, 2026, ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar and urged supporters to remain disciplined and peaceful during the mobilisation. In a post on X, he asked participants to carry books and the national flag and suggested offering flowers to police personnel as a gesture of gratitude and compassion.
Dipke, who has described the campaign as a peaceful, constitutional movement, reiterated the group’s non-violent stance, saying, “We have to lead this movement with love and peace.” He said he was looking forward to meeting supporters and appealed for orderly conduct throughout the demonstration.
The youth-led CJP has gained traction online in recent weeks by demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and recruitment tests, including NEET, CBSE, CUET and SSC exams. The group has also called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, framing the protest as a platform for students and job aspirants to press their concerns. Dipke recently returned from the United States to take part in the mobilisation.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has extended his support to the movement, warned he would undertake a six-week fast if Dipke is arrested. Wangchuk also urged protesters to cooperate with authorities, avoid carrying unnecessary items and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
Security has been tightened across Delhi ahead of the demonstration. Officials say more than 1,000 police personnel have been deployed across New Delhi and at strategic locations, including Indira Gandhi International Airport and border entry points. Police sources added that no formal request seeking permission for the protest had been received; nonetheless, security arrangements were made based on inputs from social media monitoring and other intelligence channels.
Organisers say the Jantar Mantar event is expected to be CJP’s first major on-ground mobilisation after building a substantial support base online. They have repeatedly urged participants to remain peaceful and to avoid confrontation during the protest.
