Langsning FC reached their first-ever Meghalaya State League final after coming from behind to beat Shillong Lajong FC 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time in the second semi-final at the SSA Stadium on May 30, 2026. The tie ended level after 120 minutes, and Langsning held their nerve in the shootout to secure a place in the June 5, 2026, final against debutants Nongkseh SSCC.
Shillong Lajong took an early lead when Fridison Wanniang finished from a Deibormame Tongper assist in the 21st minute. Langsning grew into the game after half-time and forced the equaliser with ten minutes remaining when tournament top scorer Nelson Rymbai converted from close range — his 23rd goal of the season.
Neither side could find a breakthrough during the 30 minutes of extra time despite chances at both ends, sending the match to penalties. Langsning goalkeeper Nister Roy Suting emerged as a decisive figure in the shootout, making a crucial save before Samchaphrang Lato missed for Shillong Lajong. During the match, Shillong Lajong controlled much of the first half, while Langsning’s second-half response included a headed chance from youngster Kyrmenskhem Mukhim that was saved by Lajong keeper Banshanskhem Kharsyntiew. Langsning’s equaliser came after sustained pressure and a long throw from Chusrang Sangma that Nelson capitalised on.
Fridison remained a constant threat and nearly restored Lajong’s lead in extra time, but Langsning defended resolutely. Both finalists will now have several days to prepare for the title decider, where a new Meghalaya State League champion will be crowned.
