Steve Jyrwa, a 17-year-old dance prodigy from Nongmynsong, is electrifying the stage in “India’s Best Dancer Season 4,” having secured a spot in the Top 6. This remarkable achievement has sparked jubilation across Meghalaya and among the Khasi-Jaiñtia community, who are avidly cheering him on.
Bibi Jyrwa, Steve’s mother, shared her family’s immense joy and pride in his success, recalling their unwavering support despite their modest means. She called on fellow Meghalayans to rally behind Steve by casting their votes via the Sony Live app during the live shows on September 7 and 8 at 8 pm.
The All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA), headed by President Bah Kitbok Thabah, is also celebrating Steve’s impressive feat. Thabah expressed optimism that the government would recognize and support such rising talents. He highlighted the association’s plea to the MDA government for aid to assist gifted individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, though he noted they were still awaiting a response.
With the next performance on the horizon, the entire state watches eagerly as Steve continues his journey. Hopes are high that he will not only reach the finals but also gain national recognition, bringing further pride to his home state of Meghalaya.
