গৌৰৱময় সফলতা: ভাৰতৰ ৰক্ষাসক্ষমতাত অগ্নি-১ মিছাইলৰ সফল পৰীক্ষণ
India on Friday carried out a successful launch of the Agni-I short-range ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Balasore, Odisha, the Defence Ministry said. Conducted under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command, the test validated the missile system’s technical and operational parameters and, according to the ministry, confirmed its readiness for service. The launch is described as a routine but important exercise that bolsters the armed forces’ preparedness and the country’s strategic deterrence capability.
Defence officials said the test was aimed at verifying the missile’s flight performance and subsystems under realistic conditions. While details released by the ministry focused on the success of the trial and the system’s functionality, they emphasized that such tests are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance operational reliability across India’s missile inventory.
The recent Agni-I launch follows an earlier successful trial on May 8, when India tested an advanced Agni missile equipped with MIRV (Multiple Independently targetable Reentry Vehicle) technology from the Odisha coast. MIRV capability allows a single missile to carry and deploy multiple warheads to separate targets, and the May 8 test marked a significant advancement in delivery-system technology for the country.
Officials framed Friday’s launch as a complementary step that adds depth to India’s strategic posture by continually validating missile performance and command-and-control procedures. The Defence Ministry’s statements underline that these flight tests are intended to ensure technological robustness and operational readiness rather than to escalate tensions, reinforcing the armed forces’ ability to deter threats and respond if necessary.
