At the ongoing Paralympic Games in Paris, Day 5 was a landmark day for India, as the nation’s athletes secured one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal, raising the overall tally to eleven.

Nitesh Kumar clinched a gold medal in Para-Badminton by defeating Britain’s Daniel Bethell 21-14, 18-21, 23-21 in the Men’s Singles SL3 event. This impressive victory marked a significant achievement for Kumar.

In Men’s Discus Throw F56 category, Yogesh Kathuniya earned his second consecutive Paralympic silver medal, continuing to demonstrate his prowess in the field.

In Para-Badminton, Thulasimathi Murugesan secured a silver medal in the women’s singles SU5 category after a closely fought final against China’s Qiu Xia Yang. Meanwhile, Manisha Ramadass added to the medal haul by winning a bronze in the same category, triumphing over Cathrine Rosengren of Denmark.

In recognition of their remarkable performances, the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Sports Minister have extended their congratulations to the athletes. The nation celebrates these achievements as a testament to the athletes’ dedication and skill.
