Tragic Landslide Near Vaishno Devi Shrine, J&K: 2 Pilgrims Killed, Young Girl Injured
Two female pilgrims tragically lost their lives, and a young girl sustained serious injuries following a landslide on the newly constructed track to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Monday. The landslide struck near Panchi, approximately three kilometers from Bhawan, around 2:35 PM, according to reports. The incident caused significant damage to a portion of an overhead iron structure.
The victims were en route to the revered Vaishno Devi shrine when the landslide occurred, resulting in the collapse of the overhead structure, trapping them underneath. In response to the crisis, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s disaster management team promptly arrived at the scene, as confirmed by the Shrine Board’s CEO.
