Donald Trump Claims Iran ‘Losing Big’ as U.S. Secures Strait of Hormuz
WASHINGTON DC — On Saturday, US President Donald Trump said the United States has begun clearing the Strait of Hormuz “as a favor to countries all over the world,” and rejected suggestions that US forces have failed to achieve their military objectives in the conflict with Iran, asserting that Iran is “LOSING BIG.”
Trump made the remarks on his Truth Social account as his administration participates in peace talks with Iran being held in Pakistan. He accused mainstream media of exaggerating Iranian strength and blamed what he called widespread “Trump Derangement Syndrome” for reports that Tehran is prevailing.
In his post, Trump claimed that Iran’s navy and air force have been effectively neutralized, and that its anti-aircraft systems, radar, and missile and drone production facilities have been largely destroyed. He also stated that many of Iran’s senior leaders are “no longer with us,” adding the phrase “praise be to Allah!” in the same message.
Trump further warned of remaining dangers from sea mines, saying the only ongoing threat is that a ship might strike a mine and asserting-without independent verification-that Iran’s 28 mine-dropper boats are at the bottom of the sea.
The president said empty oil tankers from several nations are heading to the United States to “LOAD UP with Oil” and listed China, Japan, South Korea, France and Germany among countries he said benefit from the US-led clearance operation. He criticized those nations for lacking the “courage or will” to carry out the work themselves.
