Khawaja Asif Decries Israel as a ‘Curse for Humanity’: Tel Aviv’s Fierce Retort Ignites Outrage!

Israel has lashed out at Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, labeling his recent statements as “outrageous” and undermining Pakistan’s status as a purportedly neutral mediator in ongoing Middle Eastern conflicts. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office criticized Asif’s remarks on the social media platform X, saying, “This is not a statement that can be tolerated from any government, especially not from one that claims to be a neutral arbiter for peace.”

Asif’s contentious comments, made in a social media post, painted Israel as “evil” and referred to it as a “curse for humanity.” In an incendiary assertion, he called for the removal of “European Jews,” stating, “As peace talks are underway in Islamabad, genocide is being committed in Lebanon.” He condemned Israel’s military actions, claiming, “Innocent citizens are being killed by Israel, first Gaza, then Iran, and now Lebanon, bloodletting continues unabated.” Asif expressed a wish that those who established Israel “burn in hell,” indicating a deeply hostile view toward the Jewish state.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar joined the condemnation, calling Asif’s remarks blatant antisemitic blood libels from a government purporting to mediate peace. Sa’ar declared, “Calling the Jewish state ‘cancerous’ is effectively calling for its annihilation,” and stressed that Israel will continue to defend itself against enemies who threaten its existence.

These rising tensions come as Israel contemplates direct peace talks with Lebanon, a crucial step amid escalating conflicts sparked by military strikes in the region. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his approval for discussions aimed at disarming the Hezbollah group, which is backed by Iran. While Israel and Lebanon have officially been at war since 1948, Netanyahu reaffirmed that no ceasefire currently exists. He emphasized that military operations against Hezbollah will persist until tranquility is restored in northern Israel, where fears of further conflict loom large.

In the backdrop of these developments, Lebanon’s health ministry reported over 300 fatalities and more than 1,100 injuries following recent Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in central Beirut and other regions identified as Hezbollah strongholds. This escalation further complicates regional dynamics, especially as Pakistan prepares to host peace talks this weekend amid conflicting narratives and accusations flying from both sides.

As the situation unfolds, observers remain attentive to how these diplomatic tensions will impact ongoing initiatives for peace in the Middle East. With the backdrop of rising violence and inflammatory rhetoric, the path toward meaningful dialogue appears fraught with challenges, not least due to the stark contradictions in public statements made by those seeking to mediate.
