Manik Saha Pledges: Tripura Won’t Compromise on Health Facilities
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on March 15 said the state government will not compromise on healthcare services and that strengthening medical infrastructure remains a top priority. Speaking to reporters after addressing a joining programme in Dhumachhara in Dhalai district, Saha said the administration is committed to upgrading facilities and expanding access to care across the state.
Saha told the media the government is continuously working to modernise hospitals and improve the quality of healthcare services. He said efforts include strengthening primary health centres, ensuring the availability of trained medical professionals and equipping facilities with advanced medical equipment.
“We do not want to compromise on anything in health facilities… We have dedicated this to the people of Tripura,” he said, stressing the administration’s focus on sustained improvements rather than short-term fixes.
According to the chief minister, the state will roll out new initiatives aimed at expanding healthcare infrastructure and improving residents’ access to medical services, though he did not specify details or timelines during the briefing.
Saha also outlined the Bharatiya Janata Party’s approach ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, saying the party will seek to contest all 28 council seats. He added that while the BJP does not rule out alliances, decisions on seat-sharing will depend on the party’s assessment, as it targets a full contest across the council.
The remarks were made during a BJP Karamchara Mandal joining event in Dhumachhara, underscoring the party’s simultaneous push on governance promises and electoral strategy in the run-up to the council polls.
