Bandi Sanjay Exposes Congress’s Devastating ‘Demolition Spree’: A Call to Action!
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has vigorously criticized the Congress-led government in Telangana, asserting that the administration under Revanth Reddy has done little more than engage in a ‘demolition spree’ that disproportionately affects the state’s poorest citizens. His comments came during a ceremony to launch development projects in the 51st Division of the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation on Friday.
Sanjay referenced the recent demolition drive in Khammam, stating, “While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is striving to provide homes for the poor, the Congress government in Telangana is focused on destroying the houses of the underprivileged.” This contrast was made against the backdrop of the Central government’s initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has reportedly facilitated the construction of 4 crore homes nationwide.
He emphasized the struggles that poor families endure to build their homes, questioning why officials did not oppose the constructions when they were originally being erected. “When these families manage to build small homes after years of hardship, how can the government justify demolishing them?” he asked, highlighting the paradox of governmental actions.
In response to the ongoing demolitions, Sanjay announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is prepared to mobilize large-scale protests, under the leadership of state president N. Ramchander Rao, if the Congress administration fails to halt these actions. This statement underscores the escalating tension between the BJP and Congress over issues affecting vulnerable communities in Telangana.
Additionally, Sanjay criticized the Congress government for delays in distributing funds to farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He pointed out that the Chief Minister had previously assured that ₹9,000 crore would be allocated for farmer investment support soon after the municipal elections, but those funds have yet to materialize. This delay has raised concerns among the farming community, further fueling discontent toward the state government.
As Sanjay’s remarks resonate with many in Telangana grappling with housing and agricultural challenges, they also reflect deeper political rifts as the state prepares for future electoral contests. The BJP’s call for action against the local government’s policies could signify a tightening political landscape as both parties vie for the support of crucial constituencies.
In summary, the stark contrast between the central government’s housing initiatives and the local actions of the Congress government has sparked significant debate. With the BJP positioning itself as a champion for the underprivileged and demanding accountability, the coming days may see heightened political activity as citizens advocate for their welfare amidst administrative controversies.
