Brazil vs Egypt: Can’t-Miss Pre-World Cup Friendly in Cleveland
Brazil will meet Egypt in a World Cup tune-up at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on June 6, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced, a game scheduled five days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The friendly gives both sides a final competitive run as they finalise preparations for the tournament to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Selecao will stage its last home warm-up a week earlier, hosting Panama at Rio’s Maracanã Stadium on May 31. Those fixtures complete Brazil’s immediate pre-tournament schedule ahead of their Group C opener.
Five-time world champions Brazil begin Group C on June 13 against Morocco, then face Haiti on June 19 and Scotland on June 24. The June 6 friendly in Cleveland is intended to sharpen tactics and match fitness before Brazil travels to its World Cup venues.
The CBF confirmed the Cleveland date; news agency IANS noted that Egypt is among Africa’s oldest and most successful national teams, offering a stern test for Brazil in the final phase of preparation.
