Collector C. Dinesh Kumar officiated the 77th Republic Day celebrations in Krishnagiri on January 26, 2026, marking the occasion with vibrant festivities at the district stadium. The event began with the ceremonial unfurling of the tricolour by Kumar, accompanied by the playing of the National Anthem and an official salute, followed by a guard of honour to the Collector.

In a fitting tribute to the contributions of freedom struggle veterans, the celebrations also included heartfelt recognitions for their dependents. Notably, 66 police personnel received the Chief Minister’s police medals, and over 560 officers were honored with certificates of excellence for their dedicated service.

The Collector took an active role in promoting community welfare, distributing schemes worth ₹2.51 crore to 53 beneficiaries across various departments. Recognizing corporate contributions to society, certificates of appreciation were awarded to several companies for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Notable recipients included Caterpillar, TITAN Industries, Titan Engineering, TVS Trust, Global Calcium, Tata Electronics, Kurinji International Trust, and the Eye Research Foundation.

The event was further enlivened by cultural performances from more than 910 students representing St. Annal Girls Higher Secondary School, Mathur Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Krishnagiri Government Girls Higher Secondary School, and Bargur St. Annal Public School. Their performances showcased the spirit of patriotism and cultural diversity, adding a festive atmosphere to the observance.

In Dharmapuri, celebrations exuded patriotic fervor at the district sports complex, where Collector R. Sadheesh unfurled the National Flag. Additionally, he recognized the efforts of 174 government officials with certificates of excellence, awarded police medals to 68 personnel, and distributed welfare schemes worth ₹2.38 lakhs to nine beneficiaries.

Such events not only commemorate the spirit of the Republic but also highlight ongoing governmental efforts to serve the community and honor those who have contributed to the nation’s legacy. The Republic Day celebrations in both districts reflect a commitment to recognizing excellence in public service and fostering a sense of unity and pride among citizens.

As towns across the state observed this significant day, the enthusiasm and dedication displayed by individuals and communities reinforced the importance of cherishing the values enshrined in the Constitution. The day culminated in a powerful reminder of the nation’s journey, its achievements, and the collective responsibility to uphold the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice.

This celebration in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of patriotism that continues to inspire the people of India. As we look forward to the future, such observances motivate ongoing contributions toward nation-building and the well-being of all citizens.
