
Assam Rifles Celebrates New Officers While Honoring 14 Manipur Youths
Manipur has reinforced its status as a key contributor of military officers from the North Eastern states, as the Assam Rifles honored 14 remarkable young achievers during a ceremony on December 19 at Mantripukhri Garrison. The event marked the recognition of seven newly commissioned officers alongside seven cadets who have successfully gained admission to esteemed training academies, underscoring the state’s ascending role in India’s defense sector.
The Inspector General of Assam Rifles took the opportunity to meet with the officers, cadets, and their families, praising the dedication of these young individuals and acknowledging the vital support provided by their parents in fostering successful military careers. Among those recognized were officers who entered through various pathways, including the National Defence Academy and the Short Service Commission Officer and Permanent Commission Special List programs. All seven cadets celebrated at the event have secured spots at the National Defence Academy for forthcoming training.
Additionally, the ceremony highlighted individual selections for specialized roles, featuring one candidate chosen for the Indian Coast Guard and another for the Technical Graduate Course at the Indian Military Academy. These appointments illustrate the diverse talent emerging from the state.
In his address, the Inspector General stressed the importance of upholding high standards of excellence.
