UPSC Reveals Engineering Services Exam Results: What You Need to Know!
NEW DELHI, 18 Dec: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the final results of the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025 on Thursday, recommending 458 candidates for various engineering positions within the central government. This decision follows the written examination held in August and the personality tests conducted between October and November, as stated by the UPSC.
Among those recommended, the highest number of candidates, 202, are from the civil engineering stream, followed by 116 in electronics and telecommunication, 79 in electrical engineering, and 61 in mechanical engineering. Notably, 26 of the selected candidates belong to the persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) category.
The government had previously announced a total of 554 vacancies to be filled through the ESE 2025, which included 251 positions in civil engineering, 134 in electronics and telecommunication, 97 in electrical, and 72 in mechanical engineering, with specific posts reserved for PwBD candidates.
The UPSC specified that the candidatures of 102 recommended individuals are provisional, contingent on the verification of eligibility requirements. Additionally, the commission has created a reserve list of 186 candidates across the four engineering disciplines, which may be utilized if needed under the Engineering Services Examination Rules of 2025.
Successful candidates will be appointed to diverse technical services, including the Indian Railways Service of Engineers, Indian Defence Service of Engineers, Central Water Engineering Service, Central Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Service, and Border Roads Engineering Service.
For candidates seeking more information or clarification regarding their examination and recruitment, the UPSC has set up a facilitation counter near the examination building on its campus. This counter offers assistance on working days from 10 am to 5 pm, and candidates can reach out via telephone at 011-23385271 and 011-23381125.
The results are also available on the UPSC website, www.upsc.gov.in, and the marksheet will be posted online within 15 days of the results announcement.
