Gaurav Gogoi Challenges BJP’s National President Appointment: A Call for Transparency
Congress Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on December 14 regarding the appointment of its new National Working President, claiming that the decision showed a “lack of process” and insufficient engagement with party workers. Gogoi’s comments follow the BJP’s selection of Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Nabin as the youngest person to hold this position. He argued that the appointment came without adequate consultation within the party, suggesting a disconnect between the BJP’s leadership and the sentiments of its grassroots members.
In a post on the social media platform X, Gogoi expressed concerns over the internal dynamics of the ruling party, stating, “The nomination of the National Working President of the BJP shows both a lack of process and a lack of engagement with the sentiment of the majority of the party workers.” This statement questions the depth of communication and decision-making within the BJP.
Earlier that day, the BJP Parliamentary Board officially named Nitin Nabin to the role, succeeding Union Minister JP Nadda, who has been the BJP’s National President since January 2020. Nabin, who has served multiple terms as a minister in the Bihar government and is the son of veteran BJP leader Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha, is viewed as a rising star within the party. His experience in governance is expected to bring fresh energy to the leadership role.
