Arunachal Achieves Remarkable Progress in National Education Assessment
Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on December 12 that Arunachal Pradesh has made significant strides in education, achieving 17th place in the Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 report among 36 states and union territories. Khandu characterized this progress as a strong indication that the state’s education reforms are yielding positive results. He stated, “We have moved out of the bottom 10 with remarkable improvement in learning outcomes,” reflecting his optimism about the future of education in Arunachal Pradesh.
Khandu emphasized that the state has particularly excelled in language learning at both middle and secondary levels. He noted, “Our Parakh 2024 scores in Grade 6 and Grade 9 (language) have surpassed national averages and outperformed our own past records. A true milestone in our journey of educational transformation.”
Acknowledging the collaborative effort behind this achievement, Khandu expressed gratitude to teachers, students, parents, and education officials for their roles in this educational improvement. He added, “Gratitude to all teachers, students, parents, and education officials who are making this mission a reality.”
The Parakh 2024 assessment reveals that Arunachal Pradesh ranks 12th in Grade 9, 14th in Grade 6, and 24th in Grade 3, which reflects upward trends influenced by ongoing educational reforms under the state’s vision of “Shiksit Arunachal, Viksit Arunachal 2029.” Officials from the state Education Department mentioned that these improved rankings reinforce the government’s commitment to enhancing foundational learning, upgrading educational infrastructure, and improving teaching and assessment quality throughout the state.
