In a similar vein, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed last week that Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers who performed screening duties at airports during the shutdown would also receive $10,000 bonuses for maintaining perfect attendance. Noem acknowledged the strenuous circumstances these officers faced, saying, “Despite tremendous personal, operational, and financial challenges, these dedicated officers showed up to work every day for more than a month, without pay, ensuring the American people could travel safely.”
