Strategic Insights: CM Engages with Chief of Army Staff for National Security
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay met with General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), on Tuesday at his official residence in Gangtok. The meeting also included the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, the GOC of Trishakti Corps, and the GOC of the Black Cat Division.
General Dwivedi is currently visiting the Forward Areas of Sikkim. During the discussion, the Chief Minister highlighted key topics of mutual interest, including national security, the Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative, military-civil fusion, and welfare measures for Sikkim’s veterans.
The meeting recognized the consistent efforts of the state in promoting Ranbhoomi Darshan and enhancing civil administration, as well as the Indian Army’s contributions towards military-civil integration and civil-defense initiatives. The Chief Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication, discipline, and selfless service of the Indian Army in safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining peace and tranquility within the region.
