Serious Assault and Rape Allegations Against IPL Players: Nitin Aayog Investigation Initiated

A serious allegation has been raised by a female cricketer against an IPL player, accusing him of rape and physical abuse under the promise of marriage. The accused IPL player has been identified as Bipraj Nigam.

According to the victim, a woman currently residing in a paying guest accommodation in Noida, she first connected with Bipraj Nigam through social media in May 2025. After getting acquainted, their relationship grew closer and eventually turned romantic, with the player assuring her of marriage.

The victim claims that on July 29, 2025, Nigam invited her to a hotel in Sector 135 of Noida, where he allegedly raped her under the pretext of offering her beer. She further alleges that when she confronted the player about marriage, he physically assaulted her and threw her out of the hotel.

On July 30, the victim received a threatening phone call from a woman claiming to be Nigam’s girlfriend, warning her of potential harm and threatening to leak her private photos and videos. This intimidation came from multiple phone numbers.

The victim filed a report with the Noida police on October 13, 2025, detailing the incident. She has expressed concerns that the Noida police took no action, prompting her to seek justice at the senior police office in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

In a counterclaim, Bipraj Nigam has also filed a complaint against the female cricketer, accusing her of blackmail and issuing threats on November 8, 2025.

The police are currently investigating the entire incident.
