PM Modi’s Witty Jibe at Rahul Gandhi: ‘Practicing Diving in Ponds’ Sparks Laughter and Outrage in India!
With the Bihar Assembly elections poised for their final phase on November 11, political campaigns are intensifying across the state. In a crucial showdown, 122 out of 243 constituencies will vote, setting the stage for a tight race between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United), and the Mahagathbandhan alliance comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress.
A competitive spirit is evident as 1,302 candidates have thrown their hats into the ring for this phase. Preliminary voting data from the November 6 first phase showed a voter turnout of 64.6%. Notably, Begusarai topped the turnout figures at 67.32%, whereas Sheikhpura lagged at 52.36%. While the BJP heralded the figures as a sign of growing public trust, Congress has voiced concerns, asserting that reports indicate up to 12 of the 15 ministers contesting in the first phase face potential losses.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interpreted the robust participation as a sign of public confidence, attributing the high turnout to the rapport established between voters and leaders like himself and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. On November 8, Modi was joined by Union Minister Amit Shah and other influential figures in rallies aimed at galvanizing support before the campaign’s conclusion on November 9.
In an unusual turn, Tej Pratap Yadav, founder of the Janshakti Janata Dal, was spotted conversing with BJP MP Ravi Kishan at Patna airport, provoking speculation about possible political shifts. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, addressing rallies in Banka and Bhagalpur, leveled serious allegations against the BJP, accusing them of committing “vote chori” (vote theft) in both Delhi and Bihar. He insisted that his party has compelling evidence and that the Election Commission would find it hard to dismiss these claims.
As the campaigns heat up, various party leaders are expressing confidence. RJD candidate and popular Bhojpuri artist Khesari Lal Yadav boldly predicted sweeping victories, claiming his party would secure all 100 seats in the initial phase. Contrastingly, PM Modi criticized the RJD, asserting that Bihar needs innovation and progress, not violence, stating, “Bihar needs ‘startup’, not ‘hands up’; we’re providing resources for youth and education.”
During a rally, Modi turned his attention to Rahul Gandhi’s fishing excursion in Begusarai, jesting that “even big leaders are coming here to see the fish.” Such remarks highlight the competitive nature of this election, with all parties aiming to connect with voters ahead of the polls.
Union Minister Amit Shah also reiterated the NDA’s confidence, declaring the RJD “wiped off” after the first voting phase. Conversely, Mukesh Sahani, a deputy CM candidate from the Mahagathbandhan, predicted a robust turnout and support for his alliance, claiming a significant wave for change resonates throughout Bihar.
As election day approaches, the high-stakes contest remains a focal point of political discourse in India. With both major parties intensifying their outreach efforts, the outcomes of the elections could reshape the political landscape of Bihar for years to come.
