OIL and AMCH Unite in Landmark MoU to Revolutionize Patient Care with New Facility
Dibrugarh: Oil India Limited (OIL) has entered a significant partnership with Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on boosting healthcare facilities. Under this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, OIL has committed a budget of Rs 8.90 crore to construct a state-of-the-art 37-bed multi-storied patient care cabin at AMCH, a key tertiary care referral center.
This MoU aligns with India’s development priorities aimed at enhancing healthcare and reducing inequalities. It also supports the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), Government of India’s emphasis on promoting health and nutrition. The formal agreement was signed by Anfor Ali Haque, Resident Chief Executive, OIL, and Dr. Sanjeev Kakati, Principal, AMCH, in the presence of senior officials from OIL and AMCH.
Established as the first medical college in Northeast India, AMCH serves a vast area, including parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and other neighboring Northeastern states. Given the rising demand for subsidized treatment and improved infrastructure, this new facility is anticipated to significantly enhance AMCH’s healthcare delivery capabilities, providing specialized and quality treatment.
The initiative is poised to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in Upper Assam, reflecting OIL’s commitment to supporting local communities and easing healthcare access for the population.
