Urgent: 18 Participants Stranded Without Flights Returning to Assam!
Following the death of popular singer Zubin Garg, Shyamkanu Mohanta, the organizer of the North-East Festival, has gone into hiding in Singapore. Mohanta had invited Garg to perform at the festival scheduled for September 17. Tragically, Garg lost his life in an accident on September 19. His fans subsequently filed police reports accusing Mohanta of responsibility for the incident, leading to Mohanta’s disappearance.
In the wake of the festival’s cancellation in Singapore, several organizers and staff members are now unable to return to Assam. Mohanta had arranged tickets for them to travel to Singapore, but they have not been given return tickets. As a result, these individuals find themselves stranded in Singapore, uncertain about their next steps. Many of them cannot afford to book their own tickets home, leaving them stuck in local hotels. Repeated attempts to reach Shyamkanu Mohanta by phone have been unsuccessful.
