Mizoram Pushes for Japanese Language Centre to Unlock Global Job Prospects
The Mizoram government has reached out to the National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI) to establish a Japanese language training center in Aizawl. This initiative aims to assist local youths who are seeking caregiving and nursing positions in Japan. Malsawmzuala Ralte, chairman of the Mizoram Youth Commission, emphasized the increasing interest among Mizo youth in working in Japan during a meeting with NSDCI CEO Alok Kumar in New Delhi. He also highlighted the necessity for accessible training facilities to meet this growing demand.
In the past, the state government had worked with NSDCI to send candidates to Noida for Japanese language courses, but Ralte pointed out that the distance created challenges for many prospective students. To overcome this barrier, he proposed the establishment of a language center at the Mizoram Youth Commission office in Aizawl. Kumar responded positively to the suggestion, assuring that an NSDCI team would soon visit the state to consider the proposal and develop the necessary modalities.
At present, over 100 young individuals from Mizoram are already employed in Japan, which underscores the importance of expanding such training opportunities within the state.
