Urgent Dengue Control Measures Ordered Following Timmapur Inspection
Hours after former Minister T. Harish Rao visited Timmapur, District Collector K. Hymavathi conducted an inspection of the village in response to a worrying increase in dengue cases. During her visit on Sunday, she mandated that health officials perform dengue tests for all individuals exhibiting fever and related symptoms.
Hymavathi engaged with local residents to evaluate the seriousness of the situation and to monitor the sanitation measures implemented in the area. In light of the rising number of dengue cases, a health camp was established to assist those affected.
The Collector took decisive action by instructing the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) to shut down a hospital allegedly operated by an unqualified individual who had been treating dengue patients. She called for criminal charges to be filed against this operator. Additionally, she advised the local panchayat staff to regularly conduct fogging and bleaching in Timmapur to mitigate mosquito populations.
Addressing the villagers, Hymavathi emphasized the importance of public cooperation in preventing mosquito breeding, urging them to observe a weekly dry day by emptying any standing water and removing stagnant rainwater from their surroundings. She also requested that health officials monitor patients who are admitted to private hospitals.
District Panchayat Officer Devaki Devi, DM&HO Dhanraj, MPDO Ram Reddy, and other officials accompanied her during this critical inspection. The community’s health and well-being are paramount as the local government intensifies efforts to combat the dengue outbreak.
