Stalin Slams Palaniswami: DMK’s Triumphs Drive Tamil Nadu’s Economic Surge!
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated several new facilities at the Chengalpattu District Government Headquarters Hospital in Tambaram on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The developments, which include state-of-the-art buildings constructed at a total cost of ₹110 crore, aim to enhance healthcare services in the region. Alongside the hospital’s new structures, Stalin also launched a suburban branch of the Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and Hospital worth ₹7.24 crore, an Integrated Public Health Laboratory valued at ₹1 crore, and three Urban Primary Health Centres costing a total of ₹90 lakh in Pammal.
During the inauguration, Stalin addressed criticism from AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami regarding Tamil Nadu’s economic growth. He emphasized that the progress achieved by his government under the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) surpasses that of the Narendra Modi-led Union government and other state administrations. “The DMK is leading Tamil Nadu towards development in ways that the BJP-allied AIADMK cannot deny,” he stated confidently.
Stalin expressed optimism for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections, declaring, “In Dravidian Model 2.0, we will work with greater speed and create even more development.” He envisioned setting an example for the entire nation while projecting that the AIADMK would remain in the opposition. His government has focused on balanced growth from Kanniyakumari to Chennai, emphasizing industrial development and job creation, resulting in a substantial economic growth rate of 11.19%—the highest in 14 years.
Education and healthcare, according to Stalin, are the cornerstones of the Dravidian Model government. He highlighted the importance of land ownership, stating, “While food and clothing are essential, land remains a dream for many.” To address this, the government prioritizes the distribution of free land pattas to landless families and women, fostering an egalitarian society.
Noteworthy initiatives such as ‘Kalaignar Kanavu Illam’ and ‘Housing for All’ have significantly benefited marginalized communities. From May 2021 to December 2024, a staggering 10,26,734 land pattas were distributed. To expedite this process, a high-level committee led by the Revenue Minister was established, aiming to issue five lakh pattas within five months. Remarkably, the initiative surpassed expectations, with 7,27,606 pattas distributed in that period.
Stalin’s emphasis on healthcare infrastructure and community welfare underscores his administration’s commitment to addressing social inequalities and enhancing the quality of life for Tamil Nadu’s residents. As the state moves forward, the initiatives unveiled in Tambaram are set to play a crucial role in shaping the future economic landscape and boosting public health services across Tamil Nadu.
With a focus on comprehensive development, the DMK government aims not only to improve public amenities but also to pave the way for a more inclusive society.
