GUWAHATI: Aryan Bharali and Kristi Haloi triumphed as double crown winners at the AITA CS 7 National Level Tennis Tournament (Under-12), wrapping up on Friday, August 1, at the Golaghat Tennis Club. Their victories in both the Singles and Doubles categories mark a significant milestone in their burgeoning tennis careers.
Organized by the All India Tennis Association (AITA), the tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from emerging tennis talents across Assam.
In the Boys’ Singles final, Aryan Bharali from Golaghat battled to victory against Anirban Deka from Guwahati, clinching the match in three sets with scores of 4-6, 6-2, and 6-4. The two later joined forces in the Doubles final, where they conquered Dhanush Mahanta and Ayaan Rahman, winning decisively with scores of 6-3, 6-1.
On the girls’ side, Kristi Haloi of NRL secured the Girls’ Singles title with a commanding win over Ayushree Nath from Golaghat, finishing the match with a solid score of 6-1, 6-1. Kristi and Ayushree then teamed up for the Doubles final, achieving another convincing victory with a score of 6-1, 6-1 against rivals Riya Boro and Barlin Naz Ahmed.
Both Aryan and Kristi train at the Orange Ball Tennis Academy. Their impressive performance not only illustrates their individual skills and teamwork but also bodes well for the future of grassroots tennis in Assam.
