
Kachugaon Triumphs in Epic Bodoland CEM Cup 2025 Final Against Kajalgaon!
Kachugaon made history by winning the inaugural Bodoland CEM Cup 2025, triumphing over Kajalgaon with a score of 2–0 in a thrilling final at the SAI Stadium in Kokrajhar. The match was charged with an electric atmosphere and showcased commendable sportsmanship from both teams. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma graced the event as the chief guest, accompanied by Sports Minister Nandita Garlosa, Bodoland Welfare Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro.
As champions, Kachugaon received a cash prize of ₹1.5 lakh and a shining championship trophy, which was presented by Sports Minister Nandita Garlosa. Kajalgaon, the runners-up, were awarded ₹1 lakh and a trophy, handed over by Kokrajhar MP Joyanta Basumatary. Individual accolades included Urkhao Muchahary of Kachugaon being named the Best Player of the Tournament, while his teammate Golap Brahma earned the title of Best Goalkeeper. Each received ₹10,000, and both have been selected to represent Bodoland FC in the upcoming Durand Cup, marking a significant step in their careers.
The 2025 Bodoland CEM Cup is historic not only for its competitiveness but also for its remarkable scale, featuring 3,760 teams and over 67,000 players from 420 Village Council Development Committees (VCDCs) throughout the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Celebrated as one of the largest grassroots football events in the area, the tournament aims to foster peace, unity, and brotherhood among communities through the universal language of football.
