Remarkable Engagement: Over 74% of Bihar Electors Submit Enumeration Forms in ECI’s Special Revision Drive!
In a significant development for the electoral process in Bihar, the Election Commission of India (ECI) reported that more than 74% of the 7,89,69,844 eligible voters have submitted their Enumeration Forms during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. This announcement came just days before the deadline for submissions, which is set for July 25, 2025.
As part of the second phase of the SIR, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting a comprehensive house-to-house campaign to assist voters in completing and submitting their forms. The ECI highlighted that a robust team of field-level personnel, including 38 District Election Officers and numerous Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), are actively supervising this crucial process across all 243 assembly constituencies.
The digitization of the submitted forms is progressing smoothly, with BLOs successfully uploading approximately 3.73 crore Enumeration Forms via the BLO App and ECINet, as per the Commission’s guidelines. Currently, a total of 5,87,49,463 forms have been documented, representing 74.39% of the total, over a span of just 17 days since the SIR instructions were issued on June 24, 2025.
To enhance the verification process, the ECI has introduced a new module within ECINet that enables AEROs and EROs to verify the uploaded forms efficiently. This initiative reflects the Commission’s commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the electoral process.
With an active workforce comprising 77,895 BLOs, including 20,603 new appointments, as well as over four lakh volunteers, the initiative is well-equipped to support vulnerable demographics such as the elderly, disabled, and ill individuals. Additionally, 1.56 lakh proactive Booth Level Agents from recognized political parties are play a vital role in this effort.
The cooperation among these personnel has been vital in achieving the impressive rate of form collection ahead of the July 25 deadline. The ECI is optimistic that the collaborative efforts will lead to a comprehensive and updated electoral roll for the state, enhancing voter participation in the upcoming elections.
As the countdown continues to the submission deadline, further updates from the ECI will shed light on the progress of the initiative and its impact on Bihar’s democratic process. The resident population is urged to take part in this unique opportunity to ensure their voices are heard in the electoral landscape.
This proactive approach not only aids in the rapid collection of essential voter information but also strengthens the overall electoral framework, paving the way for transparent and fair elections in Bihar.
