Bangladesh’s Generous Gift: 300 Kg of Haribhanga Mangoes to Tripura CM
Agartala, 10th July 2025: In a significant act of goodwill, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, has dispatched 300 kilograms of the renowned Haribhanga mangoes to the Chief Minister of Tripura, celebrating the amicable relationship between the two neighboring countries.
The mangoes, neatly packed in 60 cartons, were officially handed over to Indian authorities at the Akhaura Integrated Check Post in Brahmanbaria around 5 PM on Thursday. Jahangir Alam, the Revenue Officer of the Customs Department at Akhaura Land Port, confirmed that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and customs officials received the consignment.
“This is a goodwill gift from our government to the people and leadership of Tripura. It reflects the historical, cultural, and diplomatic bonds we share with the Indian state,” Alam stated.
Accompanying the mangoes was a special complimentary card and wrapping paper featuring a personal message from Dr. Yunus. The gift is set to be formally presented to the Tripura state government through the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.
The entire process was coordinated by the Protocol Division of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Officials expressed optimism that such humanitarian exchanges would further strengthen ties between Bangladesh and India, particularly in bordering states like Tripura, which share deep socio-cultural and economic connections.
