Chaos Unleashed: Two Cases Filed After DJ Party Scuffle
The Ernakulam Town North police have initiated two investigations following an altercation at a DJ party held at a local bar hotel late Saturday night. In the confrontation, a man from Thodupuzha sustained facial injuries after reportedly being attacked by a woman wielding a wine glass. The woman, hailing from Udayamperoor, has been charged with attempted murder for her role in the incident, while the injured man faces allegations of sexual misconduct based on her complaint.
According to police reports, both individuals attended the party where tensions escalated. The injured man contended that the woman attacked him without any provocation. In contrast, the woman asserted that her actions were a response to his repeated inappropriate behavior throughout the event. The attack resulted in a significant cut behind the man’s ear, requiring four stitches for treatment.
In a separate development on Sunday, Kochi City police apprehended two West Bengal natives after seizing 16 kilograms of suspected ganja. Afsal Hussain, 24, and Rony Sekh, 19, were arrested near FACT in Eloor based on a tip-off. Authorities indicated that the pair concealed the drugs in travel bags, allegedly purchased from Odisha, and had been supplying ganja to various sellers throughout the region.
Simultaneously, Ernakulam Rural police detained Khalil Mandal, 41, and S.K. Sameem, 26, following another tip-off that led to the recovery of 18 kilograms of ganja at Odakkali. Khalil, previously employed as a laborer, reportedly sold ganja for ₹25,000 per kilogram. An ongoing investigation aims to uncover the identities of their customer base.
The incidents highlight ongoing issues of public safety and drug trafficking in the region, as authorities ramp up efforts to address these pressing concerns. The police have indicated that further inquiries will continue in both cases, with a focus on ensuring accountability and safety within the community.
As the investigations unfold, the community remains alert to the implications of such events, emphasizing the need for vigilance and proactive measures in maintaining public order.
