The high-level discussion centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation in critical areas such as transport, connectivity, infrastructure, and rare earth metals. Following the meeting, Vaishnaw shared on social media that the conversation was productive and highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two nations. This meeting occurs alongside the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025), where Vaishnaw is representing India. The forum commenced on June 18 and will run until June 21, providing a platform for various economic discussions and partnerships. The Indian Consulate in St. Petersburg confirmed the minister’s attendance and the objectives of the discussions with his Russian counterpart.
