Exciting Opportunity: 40,000 Youth to Secure Government Jobs on Oct 10!
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Thursday a significant recruitment initiative slated for October 10, aiming to fill 40,000 positions across various government departments. This announcement was made during an event where he distributed appointment letters to 481 newly recruited individuals in the veterinary, tourism, and education sectors.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s pledge to create over one lakh job opportunities, revealing plans to reach a total of 1.60 lakh recruitments by the upcoming recruitment drive, ensuring a transparent and merit-based selection process. In the event, the newly appointed included 443 Veterinary Field Assistants, 12 Tourism Development Officers, 23 DIET lecturers, and 3 SCERT Assistant Directors.
Sarma highlighted the administration’s commitment to enhancing the rural economy and animal husbandry, noting Assam’s underperformance compared to other states despite its rich potential. He also announced a collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board to establish the North East Dairy and Foods Limited, which aims to process 10 lakh liters of milk daily. Infrastructure development, including high-capacity milk processing facilities, is currently underway in various districts such as Dhemaji, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Cachar, and Guwahati, with AMUL planning a new plant in Rani.
In addition, the Chief Minister advocated for poultry and duck farming, addressing Assam’s dependence on egg imports. He expressed optimism that if 1,000 entrepreneurs take the initiative, the state could produce one crore eggs daily within three years.
Further aligning with sustainable practices, Sarma emphasized the potential for biogas and bio-CNG production from cattle dung and the promotion of local pork production. He urged newly recruited tourism officials to capitalize on Assam’s abundant tourism opportunities, pointing out that Kaziranga National Park now ranks third in India for tourist visitors.
Regarding education, Sarma reaffirmed the government’s focus on hiring qualified and trained teachers to strengthen the academic framework in Assam. The initiatives outlined reflect a comprehensive strategy to develop the state’s economy and improve employment opportunities through targeted recruitment and sustainable practices.
