Arunachal CEO Engages Media to Enhance Election Communication Efforts
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain recently convened a meeting with the Director of Information and Public Relations (IPR) and representatives from various media outlets, including print, electronic, and social media, at Nirvachan Bhawan. The objective was to enhance coordination and streamline communication related to the upcoming elections.
During the meeting, Sain thanked the IPR and the media community for their ongoing support in disseminating accurate information to the public in a timely manner. He emphasized the media’s essential role in raising voter awareness, noting that elections are intricate processes with ramifications extending far beyond election day, influencing national government formation.
A notable outcome of this gathering was the proposal to create a dedicated election news section within the IPR. This initiative aims to foster better communication between electoral authorities and the public. The IPR director has been tasked with appointing an officer to oversee this section and to provide contact details to the CEO’s office.
Additionally, Deputy CEO Shania Kayem Mize updated the attendees about an upcoming national-level media workshop being organized by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on July 7 in New Delhi. Arunachal Pradesh has been allocated ten seats for the workshop, and media houses have been asked to submit nominations to the IPR director by June 20.
Sain also highlighted the importance of relying on verified information, urging all involved parties to follow the official social media accounts of the ECI and the state CEO to stay informed.
