
Massive Drug Bust in Assam: Three Arrested with Rs 2 Crore Heroin
In a significant operation against drug trafficking, Assam Police arrested three individuals and seized a consignment of heroin valued at around Rs 2 crore in the Sribhumi district on Sunday. The successful operation was confirmed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
This targeted effort took place in the Mundamala area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Patharkandi police station. The police confiscated a total of 324 grams of heroin during the operation. Chief Minister Sarma shared the news on social media, praising the state police for their rapid response and commitment.
Sarma expressed his gratitude to the law enforcement team, remarking, “Another clean sweep,” as he acknowledged their ongoing dedication to combatting the drug crisis in the region. This operation underscores the government’s relentless fight against drug trafficking and its impact on local communities.
