Parliament Panel Revelations: Key Insights You Need to Know!
New Delhi: There was no ‘nuclear signalling’ from Pakistan during the recent military conflict, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated before Parliament on Monday evening. He informed the Standing Committee on External Affairs that the nature of the conflict remained “conventional.” Misri emphasized that Islamabad’s use of Chinese-made weapons, including the HQ-9 missile defence system, was irrelevant in the context, noting, “What matters is we hit their air bases hard.”
When pressed for further details, particularly regarding any Indian fighter jets that may have been downed by Pakistani air defenses, Misri refrained from commenting, citing national security concerns. Reports suggesting that Pakistan had shot down five Indian aircraft, including at least three Rafales, were denied by the government.
