Remarkable Triumph: Tamil Nadu Achieves Stunning 98.48% Pass Rate in Class 12 and an Astounding 99.86% in Class 10 CBSE Results!
Tamil Nadu has recorded an impressive 98.48% pass rate for students who sat for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams, a slight dip from last year’s 98.74%. The results were announced on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, alongside national figures showing an overall pass percentage of 88.39%.
In the Class 10 exams held around the same time, Tamil Nadu achieved an impressive 99.86% pass rate, an improvement from the previous year’s 99.84%. The results reveal an encouraging trend for students in the state, with female candidates outshining their male counterparts. Specifically, 42,904 boys and 37,314 girls attempted the Class 12 exams, with girls achieving a pass rate of 98.99% compared to boys’ 98.03%.
The Chennai region performed notably well, placing third nationally with a pass rate of 97.39%, although this marks a decline from last year’s impressive 98.47%. The Chennai region encompasses not only Tamil Nadu but also Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The CBSE Class 12 examinations took place from February 15 to April 4, with 1,041 schools in Tamil Nadu participating across 344 examination centers. Meanwhile, the Class 10 exams occurred from February 15 to March 13. In the latter, the Chennai region’s pass rate fell to fourth place nationally at 98.71%, down from 99.3% in the previous year. Nationwide, the Class 10 pass percentage stood at 93.6%.
In Tamil Nadu, 56,008 boys and 47,251 girls sat for the Class X exams. Girls achieved a remarkable pass rate of 99.9%, overshadowing boys who secured a rate of 99.8%.
Students can easily access their results through several platforms, including the official CBSE website, results.nic.in, results.digilocker.gov.in, and the Umang app. Additionally, students can retrieve their result documents via the Digilocker app, ensuring a convenient experience for all.
