Operation Sindoor: NSA Doval Unites Global Powers in Strategic Dialogue
New Delhi, May 7: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval engaged in urgent discussions with his global counterparts and top diplomats shortly after India executed targeted strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir as part of ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Sources indicate that Doval’s conversations included influential figures such as US NSA Marco Rubio, UK NSA Jonathan Powell, Saudi NSA Musaid Al Aiban, UAE NSA Sheikh Tahnoon, and others from Japan, Russia, China, and France. During these high-level talks, Doval provided a detailed account of India’s preemptive measures against terror bases operated by groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba, emphasizing that the strikes were precise and executed with restraint to avoid escalation.
Doval assured his counterparts that India does not seek to heighten tensions but stands prepared for any retaliatory actions from Pakistan. This outreach is largely viewed as India’s strategic maneuver to keep the international community informed while seeking their understanding and backing amidst its counter-terrorism efforts.
Experts argue that these diplomatic interactions are part of a broader initiative to frame India’s military actions within the context of a global war on terrorism. The recent strikes targeted significant sites in Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Barnala—areas known for harboring camps responsible for training terrorists linked to previous attacks on Indian soil, including the infamous 2008 Mumbai attacks and the recent 2023 Poonch pilgrimage incident.
Officials have noted that Doval plans to sustain communication with his global counterparts as the situation advances. Analysts suggest that India’s message is unequivocal: while it aims for peace, it will decisively confront terrorism. Concurrently, by engaging with pivotal international partners, India seeks to fortify global support and mitigate risks of further escalation.
The diplomatic outreach highlights India’s commitment not only to domestic security but also to a coordinated international approach against terrorism, signaling a readiness to act firmly while maintaining open communication channels with the world.
