Meghalaya’s SSLC Supplementary Exams Kick Off May 1: Over 7,000 Determined Students Ready to Excel!
The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) is gearing up to conduct the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) Supplementary Examinations from May 1 to May 8, 2025. This initiative will take place across 76 examination centres statewide, providing students with a crucial opportunity to improve their academic standing.
In a recent announcement by the Education Department, it was revealed that 7,085 out of 8,918 eligible candidates have registered for the supplementary exams, resulting in a commendable registration rate of 79.44%. Among the registered examinees, 2,235 hail from the Khasi Hills region, while a significant 4,850 are from the Garo Hills region.
To accommodate the students, the state has designated 49 examination centres in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills areas and 27 centres in the Garo Hills. This strategic allocation aims to facilitate efficient examination processes and ensure that all students have access to their respective testing locations.
The Board is committed to timely result processing, with plans to finalize results by the end of May. This swift turnaround is designed to allow successful candidates to transition smoothly to Higher Secondary education, minimizing any disruptions to their academic progress.
Vijay Kumar Mantri, Commissioner and Secretary of the Education Department, extended his best wishes to all candidates. “The department remains dedicated to supporting our students in their academic journey,” he stated. This sentence underscores the government’s commitment to education and ensuring that no student is left behind.
The SSLC Supplementary Examination serves as a vital lifeline for those who did not pass the regular board exams, preserving their ability to continue their education without losing an academic year. This second chance is crucial for many students, providing them with the opportunity to succeed and pursue their educational goals.
As the examination dates approach, candidates are encouraged to prepare diligently and make the most of this opportunity. The Education Department’s support, coupled with the resources provided, aims to foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all students participating in the exams.
With this supplementary examination on the horizon, Meghalaya’s educational landscape continues to adapt and evolve, reflecting a commitment to educational excellence and student success. Students, educators, and families await the upcoming assessments with anticipation, hopeful for positive outcomes.
With a considerable number of candidates registered and dedicated centres established, the MBoSE is set to facilitate a smooth examination process that prioritizes student success. As the exam dates draw near, the focus remains on empowering students to thrive in their educational pursuits.
