Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan stated, “The accused forcibly restrained the woman and her daughter.” After binding them, he is alleged to have raped the woman and issued threats to her daughter, warning of severe consequences should they speak of the incident. The assailant then fled the scene by jumping back over the wall.
Upon returning from Bihar on April 24, the woman’s husband learned of the incident, prompting them to file a police complaint. The police immediately took action, conducting a medical examination on the victim. DCP Valsan confirmed these steps, adding, “Based on her statement, an FIR was registered.”
The accused, also a resident of Bihar, was arrested on Tuesday and is now in judicial custody. The swift police action underscores the gravity of the crime and the commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and her family.
