violent investigative drama unfolds in HIT The Third Case: Nani’s ‘Ab ki Baar, Arjun Sarkaar’ trailer drops
Nani Takes Center Stage in Bloody Actioner HIT: The Third Case
Actor and producer Nani is doubling down on his lead role in the latest installment of the HIT franchise, HIT: The Third Case, directed by Sailesh Kolanu. The long-awaited trailer, released Monday, promises a visceral and intense investigative drama that does not shy away from graphic violence. The film, produced by Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema, is set to hit theaters on May 1, clashing with Suriya-Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro.
The trailer opens with Nani’s character, Arjun Sarkaar, speaking about the “rightful” place for criminals, setting the tone for a film that glorifies institutional violence. The premise, shrouded in mystery, appears to revolve around a missing nine-month-old baby, women chained in cages, and an underground fighting ring. Nani’s character, sporting a white suit, is transformed into a bloody, battle-hardened cop by the end of the trailer.
Violence is a central theme, with seemingly endless shots of hand-to-hand combat, punches, kicks, and brutal takedowns. Meat cleavers are wielded, and several characters meet gruesome ends. A striking aspect of the trailer is its inability to discern whether the emphatic dialogue “There’s a line that humans don’t cross. We are going to cross that tonight” belongs to the protagonist or the antagonist.
Between the bloodshed, Srinidhi Shetty’s character makes a brief appearance, serving as a contrast to the intense action. A throwaway line praising Nani’s dedication to his craft, “I’ve been listening to this since the beginning of my career,” hints at the actor’s iconoclastic status in Telugu cinema.
HIT: The Third Case marks a significant departure from Nani’s typical comedic roles, signaling his willingness to explore darker, more intense themes. His upcoming film, Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, promises more of the same style, solidifying Nani’s transition into a leading action hero.
The film, featuring Surya Srinivas and Adil Pala, will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. With its tagline “Ab ki baar, Arjun Sarkaar,” HIT: The Third Case is poised to carve a bloody path at the box office.
