Violence in West Bengal’s Murshidabad District Sparks Political Outrage
Union Minister Giriraj Singh has strongly condemned the recent violence in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, describing it as a "heart-wrenching" incident that highlights the deteriorating law and order situation under the Mamata Banerjee-led government. The minister accused the Trinamool Congress government of minority appeasement and neglecting the safety of the majority Hindu population.
The violence allegedly erupted over a dispute involving Waqf Board properties, sparking outrage and concerns about the safety of innocent civilians. Singh urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take concrete steps to address the issue, questioning whether she intended to allow Hindus to leave the state. "Mamata Banerjee should tell, should the Hindus of Bengal leave Bengal? This is the situation they have created," he asked, pointing to the systematic intimidation and forced migration of the Hindu community.
In a scathing attack on the West Bengal Chief Minister, Singh accused her of failing to protect the interests of Hindus, despite being responsible for their welfare. "I am saying again and again, when the saviour becomes the destroyer, who will save? Mamata Banerjee is the chief of the government of Bengal, and it is her responsibility to protect Hindus as well," he stated.

Singh also took aim at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, alleging that he is attempting to replicate the situation in Bengal in Bihar by stating that he will abolish the Waqf (Amendment) Act when he comes to power. "He has not even come to power yet, and the Hindus of Bihar are already being intimidated," Singh alleged.
The minister emphasized the importance of protecting the safety and security of all citizens, regardless of their religious or political affiliations. "Who is the custodian of the Constitution? Everyone is a citizen. The government has the biggest responsibility," he said, urging a unified approach to addressing the issue.
