The master blaster, accompanied by his wife, daughter, and a few close acquaintances, has been exploring the picturesque spots of Meghalaya, including the world’s wettest place, Sohra, and Asia’s cleanest village, Mawlynnong.
During his visit, Tendulkar was mobbed by fans at every location, who eagerly sought his autograph and selfies. The cricketer, known for his humble nature, was delighted to obliged, leaving his admirers beaming with joy. “Wherever he went, fans lined up for a quick selfie and the master blaster was more than happy to pose. The cricketer, attracted a lot of fanfare, particularly from local kids at Mawlynnong village, who were thrilled to catch a glimpse of him. Mawlynnong, a village that made headlines over a decade ago for being named Asia’s cleanest, boasts a bamboo skywalk, lush orchards, and traditional Khasi homes with tin roofs, adding to its unique charm. A living root bridge in Nohwet village also captivated Tendulkar’s attention.
The master blaster also had the opportunity to indulge in the local cuisine at the Marriott Hotel, where he savored special dishes prepared by MasterChef India finalist Nambie Marak, showcasing the culinary delights of the Garo tribe. Tendulkar’s admiration for Marak’s culinary skills was evident as he requested her to share her selfie with her. Tendulkar’s humility and kindness were evident as he shared a moment of levity with Marak, teaching her how to take a better selfie.
Before departing Meghalaya, Tendulkar and his family enjoyed a family picnic outing on the outskirts of town, taking in the scenic views of Umiam Lake. The cricketer is expected to host a high tea with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma at his resort before heading to the Kaziranga National Park in Assam, where he will spend some time before returning to Mumbai on April 9.
