Union Minister of State for Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Visits Baksa District to Review Central Government Schemes
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, in charge of Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, paid a visit to Baksa district on March 22 to assess the progress of various central government initiatives. During his visit, he chaired a review meeting at the District Commissioner’s conference hall in Mushalpur, where he emphasized the importance of enhanced agricultural productivity and the establishment of cold storage facilities to support local farmers.
Meghwal highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to uplift the poorest of the poor, emphasizing the need for improved inter-district coordination, rural entrepreneurship development, and strengthening cooperative networks to enhance market access for farmers and small-scale enterprises. He also emphasized the significance of streamlining supply chains to boost profitability for small-scale producers. Meghwal recognized Baksa’s potential in honey production, urging local authorities to facilitate capacity-building programs and technical support for beekeepers, which could significantly boost profitability for honey producers in the region.
The minister also reviewed key departments, including handloom and textiles, acknowledging their role in generating local employment and economic growth. He underscored the need for targeted interventions to bolster rural livelihoods and harness Baksa’s agricultural potential. The review meeting was attended by MCLA Ghanshyam Das, District Commissioner Gautam Das, Block Development Officers (BDO), Heads of Departments, and other senior government officials. Meghwal’s visit reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and economic development in the region.
Meghwal’s visit is seen as a move to review the progress of various central government schemes and to assess the coordinated efforts of various departments to implement projects and initiatives in the region. The tour came as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen rural infrastructure and stimulate local economic growth. As the region continues to focus on developing its agricultural sector, Meghwal’s attention to the issue of cold storage facilities and market access for farmers is expected to have a positive impact on the region’s economic development.
