Assam Deports 13 Illegal Bangladeshis, Reiterates Commitment to Border Security

In a significant move to combat illegal immigration and uphold national security, the authorities in Assam have deported 13 Bangladeshi nationals through the Sutarkandi Integrated Check Post (ICP). The deportees, identified as Abdul Hamid, Sabuj Hussain, Abul Hassan, Sanju, Md. Hussain, Hossain Sardar, Siam Ali, Nizam Uddin, Sopon Mia, Rifat Hossain Azad, Faruk Hossen, Md. Bappi Bepari, and Chandan Hussein Jewel, were handed over to the foreign authorities in a strict adherence to legal protocols.

The development demonstrates Assam’s unwavering commitment to tackling illegal immigration, which has been a long-standing concern for the region. The authorities have been working closely with security forces to prevent further unlawful entries and ensure the integrity of border management. In a separate statement, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, emphasized the need for mutual respect between Bengali and Assamese communities, stating, “There was a time of Bengali-Assamese competition, now mutual respect.”

The recent development is seen as a significant step towards addressing cross-border infiltration and reinforcing national security. The authorities have been working tirelessly to strengthen border management, and this move serves as a powerful demonstration of their commitment to upholding the law and protecting the region’s integrity. The deportation of the 13 Bangladeshi nationals has sent a strong message to those seeking to enter the country illegally, and it is hoped that it will deter future attempts to compromise the security of the region.

In a time when international borders are more porous than ever, it is reassuring to see governments taking concrete steps to address the issue of illegal immigration. The deportation of the 13 individuals is a testament to the Assam government’s unwavering dedication to protecting the nation’s borders and upholding the law. As the region continues to navigate the complexities of cross-border issues, it is crucial that governments work closely together to prevent unlawful entries and ensure the safety and security of all parties involved.
