Exciting iOS 18.1 Developer Beta 1: Experience Apple Intelligence, Call Recording, and More Game-Changing Features!
On Monday, Apple rolled out the iOS 18.1 Developer Beta 1 update for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, bringing a host of eagerly awaited features to developers. The standout addition is the Apple Intelligence suite, unveiled at the WWDC 2024. This update introduces enhancements across multiple Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac, integrating powerful artificial intelligence (AI) functionalities.
Key among these is an AI-driven writing tool that offers document proofreading, grammar and spelling checks, and text rewriting in various tones—Concise, Friendly, or Professional. It also includes a text summarization capability to highlight key points for better comprehension, a feature demonstrated during Apple’s developer conference.
Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, receives significant upgrades, including contextual awareness, allowing for more intuitive interactions even if users stumble during their voice queries. A new glowing UI for Siri has also been introduced, along with smart reply options in Messages that offer relevant quick responses based on message analysis.
The Photos app now incorporates AI features for automatic movie creation via the Memory Movie option, which can be manually adjusted by users. Additionally, natural language search has been integrated, enabling simpler media searches. Safari benefits from the update with AI-driven webpage summarization when Reader Mode is enabled.
Another notable feature is the call recording functionality added to the Phone app, with recorded calls accessible in the Notes app, including transcription options. Apple maintains its commitment to transparency with the Apple Intelligence Report feature in Settings, which allows users to review and export their activity, protected by Face ID authentication.
The iOS 18.1 Developer Beta 1 update is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models, thanks to their A17 Pro chipset. Alongside this, Apple also released Developer Beta updates for iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1, introducing Apple Intelligence features to iPad and Mac devices equipped with Apple Silicon chipsets.
