Dimthanlong village in Tamenglong Ward No. 3 was struck by a devastating landslide on the night of July 29, claiming the lives of a mother and her child. Additionally, a resident, Ringsinlung Kahmei, sustained critical injuries. The Chief Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, conveying condolences to the bereaved family and assuring that Kahmei will receive the necessary medical attention.

In a related political development, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh is embroiled in a contentious debate with the opposition over budget allocations for Manipur.
