
Tragic Accident: 2 Killed, 20 Injured in Devastating Mumbai-Bound Train Derailment in Jharkhand
In a tragic incident early this morning, two people lost their lives and 20 others were injured when 18 coaches of the Howrah-CSMT Express, en route to Mumbai, derailed near Badabamboo in Jharkhand, approximately 80 km from Jamshedpur, at around 3:45 AM.
Swift action followed, with rescue teams promptly deployed to the accident site. West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary, who is overseeing the rescue operation on-site, confirmed the casualties and injuries. “Rescue operations are ongoing, and an NDRF team is en route to assist,” he informed PTI.
Senior Railways official Om Prakash Charan disclosed that the derailed coaches included 16 passenger coaches, one power car, and one pantry car. Additionally, he noted that a nearby goods train had also derailed around the same time, though it remains unclear if the incidents are connected.
Injured passengers received immediate first aid from the railway medical team and were subsequently transferred to Chakradharpur for advanced treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the derailment.
