In a landmark agreement, the Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board (SCEB) and the Kenono Foundation have come together to develop and manage the Sendenyu Community Responsible Tourism Initiative (SCRTI). The partnership aims to promote biodiversity conservation, education, and community leadership development in the region. The signing ceremony, held at the Ecotourism Destination Center in New Sendenyu Village, brought together leaders and representatives from the four Village Councils, frontal organizations, and churches, as well as officials from Kenono Foundation and CRBC.
According to a press release, the agreement focuses on several key areas, including promoting biodiversity education and conservation awareness, creating an environment for counseling and leadership development, and advancing responsible tourism for conscious citizenship. The partnership will also strengthen community leadership and capacity-building, ensuring collective stewardship of the properties and assets involved.
Ruchinilo Kemp, Chief Executive of Kenono Foundation, chaired the signing ceremony, which commenced with an invocation prayer by Tenyenilo Thong, Pastor of Sendenyu Baptist Church. Keynote speakers Gwasinlo Thong, Chairman of SCEB, and Rev.
